The “Love Who I Am” Tour, Allison Eide’s first-ever headlining run, launched on a meaningful and memorable note the evening of Wednesday, April 30 at Village View Community Church in Summerfield, FL. As both a Kingdom Builder guest and an artist with a powerful message of mental health awareness, this kickoff felt like a divine appointment—especially with May marking the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Month.
When I saw that the tour was coming to Florida—and that this was Allison’s very first headlining date—I knew it was something my 12-year-old daughter Lorelai and I couldn’t miss. She’s a huge fan of Allison, so despite it being a school night, we made the 90-minute drive from the Tampa area. It ended up being more than worth it—both as a night of musical worship and as a father-daughter memory we won’t forget.
Village View Community Church, tucked in the countryside with its rolling pastures and quiet charm, provided a welcoming setting for the evening. The venue’s larger size offered ample space without losing the intimacy that makes a faith-based concert truly connect. It was also a free concert, supporting the church’s school, with several hundred people in attendance—a great showing for Allison’s debut headliner.
Before the show, Lorelai was thrilled to receive a warm hug from Allison, who took time to meet us briefly and say hello. We also had the opportunity to connect with her team and were given great access to cover the event.
The evening began with 3 Chord (@3chord_music), a trio of triplet sisters from the host church who kicked off the night with a beautiful worship song and their latest single, “Honey.” Up next was Antonio (@songsbyantonio), who brought a strong worship vibe with a few originals, even engaging the crowd in a call-and-response section that showcased his background in music education.
Then it was time for Allison to take the stage. Opening with “Still Afraid,” she moved seamlessly into a full set that blended heartfelt worship, raw vulnerability, and moments of pure joy. She moved between standing at the mic and sitting at the keys, letting her story guide the atmosphere. Lorelai, like many of the young girls in the crowd, was completely captivated.
Highlights included Allison’s openness about her mental health journey, her partnership with Tutapona (a mental health support org for war-affected communities), and an unforgettable moment when she left the stage to sing directly to fans on the floor—connecting in a deeply personal way. And yes, there was an encore (I’ll let you guess the song!), where Allison stood at eye-level with fans, holding their hands and singing together—creating memories that will last a lifetime.
In true Allison fashion, the night ended with a lighthearted basketball challenge between her and a fan—showcasing her fun, down-to-earth personality even after pouring her heart out on stage.
Beyond the music, the night offered an opportunity to connect with others who share a passion for Kingdom impact. One such encounter may lead to an exciting future collaboration—another divine appointment, perhaps?
We’ll be sharing some videos from the show very soon. In the meantime, make sure you check out the photos below, 3Chord, Antonio, and Allison Eide’s music on Spotify, and follow them on socials and to see if Allison’s “Love Who I Am” Tour is coming near you. Independent artists like Allison rely on the support of their community—and I can confidently say she’s one worth supporting.
This night reminded me again why Kingdom Builder and Today’s Christian Entertainment exist: to spotlight voices with purpose, passion, and a heart for Christ. And as always, keep Christ first in your life—everything else will fall into place.
