Forrest Frank Presents Child Of God Tour Part II (with Elevation Rhythm)

Yuengling Center, Tampa, FL – May 17, 2025

5/5

On the evening of Saturday, May 17, Forrest Frank brought the final stop of his Child of God Tour to the sold-out Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida—and I’m still struggling to find the words to describe what we experienced. I’ve been to a lot of shows this year, but hands down, this was the most powerful. A full three hours of worship, celebration, Holy Spirit movement, and unforgettable moments. Even with a 5.0 rating (the first ever for me), I still don’t think it fully captures the weight of the night.

When I first found out I’d have the opportunity to attend, writing a formal review wasn’t my plan. But thanks to a nudge from my better half (aka my wife, who also gets credit for most of the photos), I realized that it was the final stop of the tour—and it deserved to be documented.

Elevation Rhythm Brings the Praise (and the Moves)

I admit I had nearly forgotten that Elevation Rhythm was opening the night, but when I remembered, my excitement jumped. Their focus on the next generation aligns deeply with my heart for youth ministry and raising my 12-year-old daughter. Having been on a worship music kick lately, I was especially eager to hear one of my personal favorites, “GOODBYE YESTERDAY,” which features Gracie Binion—who I had just seen earlier in the week during Bodie’s Murder My Ego tour stop (read our review of that one, too!).

Gracie wasn’t on stage for this show, but Elevation Rhythm didn’t miss a beat. They kicked things off with their latest single, “Sing Of Your Love,” before launching into Elevation Worship’s “Praise”—and believe me, the crowd praised. It felt like church in the best way.

Their 45-minute set also included “At The Altar” (a powerful track originally featuring Abbie Gamboa and Tiffany Hudson) and ended with a high-energy, dance-filled version of “GOODBYE YESTERDAY” that had the entire venue jumping, clapping, and worshiping.

A Moment for Mission

After Elevation Rhythm’s set, we were introduced to a familiar face—Garrett Hornbuckle—who shared his personal story and presented the night’s sponsorship opportunity through World Vision. We’d met him before during Jordan Feliz’s tour stop in Tampa, and it was powerful to hear that over 10,000 kids had been sponsored throughout this tour. Praise God for that kind of Kingdom impact!

A God-Wink Between Sets

Before Forrest’s set began, a special moment reminded us that these nights are often just as powerful offstage as they are on. While waiting during the intermission, we had the chance to gift a couple of @JustBeKindBraceletsByElla to two young girls who were attending the show with their mom and grandmother. As we shared the heart behind the bracelets—created by our dear friend Ella to spread kindness and shine light—we found out that one of the girls was also named Ella. Coincidence? Maybe. But to us, it felt like a God-wink—one of those divine little reminders of how intentional God is in every detail.

If you’ve been following our journey, you might remember Ella’s beautiful contribution to our Maverick City Music review, where she shared her reflections from a worshiper’s perspective. And that’s just the beginning—Ella’s story will be featured soon on our Kingdom Builder podcast and YouTube channel, where you’ll get to hear more about her faith, creativity, and her mission to spread kindness in a world that desperately needs it.

Enter: Forrest Frank

About 30 minutes later, the lights dimmed, and an analog countdown played, leading into an old video clip of Forrest’s grandfather, Neil Frank, speaking at a Billy Graham event. This seamlessly transitioned into “No Longer Bound,” and from that moment, the crowd was locked in. Forrest emerged from the back of the stage through a tunnel-like entrance, joining his band on a raised green that gave the night a unique production flair.

From “UP!” to “AMEN” and everything in between, Forrest’s set was a two-hour blend of joy, worship, and deep spiritual resonance. Early in the set, he stopped to pray over the night, asking for the Holy Spirit to flood the space and for the enemy to flee. He even suggested that this might be one of the largest gatherings of believers—not just in Tampa, but maybe in the whole country that night. The crowd roared in agreement, transitioning straight into “AMEN.”

Fan Love, Worship, and an Unexpected Injury

One of the standout moments came during “GOD IS GOOD,” where Forrest invited a fan on stage to sing Caleb Gordon’s part. The fan brought all the hype—until, sadly, he appeared to injure his ankle during the excitement. True to his character, Forrest paused the set to pray for him on the spot. Moments like that show why fans love him—not just for the music, but for the heart behind it.

Later, during “Praises,” a female member of Elevation Rhythm joined him for a live version of their joint track. And although Forrest only gave a quick snippet of “YOUR WAY’S BETTER” (and skipped doing the viral dance himself), it was still a highlight.

Testimony and Tenderness

One of the most moving parts of the night came when Forrest made his way to the back of the arena to play piano and share his testimony. He spoke vulnerably about how God led him away from secular music, gifted him with songs, and began using it for the Kingdom. He talked about expecting audiences of twenty- and thirty-somethings and instead discovering crowds filled with families, kids, and believers of all backgrounds—a testament to the reach of his genre-blending sound.

He gave us a sneak peek into his creative process using Logic, building the track for “GOOD DAY” live on screen before walking back to the main stage to perform the song—bringing a group of kids with him and giving them shirts and the best seat in the house.

The Worship We’ll Never Forget

What followed was a worship moment that defies explanation. From “LIFT MY HANDS” into a deep set of worship songs, the atmosphere shifted. Many (myself included) were on our metaphorical knees by the time he reached “Altar.” Before ending the main set, Forrest addressed those in the audience who might not yet believe in Jesus, sharing that our joy comes from Him alone. It was raw, powerful, and convicting.

Encore Energy

But the night wasn’t over.

The encore launched with “Drop,” cranking the production value even higher, and to end the night (and tour), Forrest highly encouraged everyone to put their phones away for one last moment of unity. As “NEVER GET USED TO THIS” filled the venue, Elevation Rhythm rejoined the stage, jumping and dancing in joy, and Forrest himself jumped off the stage to join the crowd before returning to cap the night with an epic stage dive.

Final Thoughts

This wasn’t just a concert—it was a move of God. I can’t imagine a more joyful, Spirit-filled way to close a tour. Whether it was the dancing, the vulnerability, the worship, or just the presence in the room, this is a night I—and everyone else there—will never forget.

And to think… it was all for Jesus.
