GRAMMY-winning hip-hop artist Lecrae is officially in album mode, launching a 3-single rollout leading to his upcoming project, Reconstruction, due out August 22. The first track, “Tell No Lies,” features powerhouse lyricist and Bible teacher Jackie Hill Perry. Together, the two deliver a hard-hitting critique of status-chasing and surface-level spirituality, challenging both hip-hop culture and the Church to confront the lies we often tell ourselves—and each other—for validation.

Built around a flipped sample of “Amores Como el Nuestro” (popularized by Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie”), the track pairs Latin-tinged production with fiery conviction. Lecrae raps, “They said they killers, they wearing a wire / Demons just filling your head up with lies,” while Jackie Hill Perry closes with unapologetic theological precision, “Only blunt for the Son, I’m free / Sojourner Truth running to a booth / Giving sixteens.”

“Tell No Lies” sets the tone for a new era of ministry and musical depth from Lecrae, whose career has already reshaped Christian hip-hop’s place in mainstream culture. Following this release, Lecrae will drop “Bless You” featuring Hulvey on July 18, alongside a physical mailer campaign, an exclusive fan community rollout, and a pre-order EP bundle tied to Reconstruction.

With accolades ranging from Platinum singles and Billboard #1 albums to TEDx talks and GRAMMY nominations, Lecrae remains one of Christian music’s most influential voices—unafraid to challenge the culture while pointing listeners to something deeper than hype.
