When I heard that Seph Schlueter’s Counting My Blessings Tour was making a stop in Tampa, I knew it would be a great night. I’d never seen Seph—or Jamie MacDonald—live before, but I was familiar enough with both of their music to be excited when our friends at TPR. offered the chance to attend. And wow, it turned out to be even more powerful, intimate, and joyful than I expected.

Before the concert even began, there was a unique little pre-show treat: a fan Q&A with Seph—but this wasn’t your average sit-down session. Seph hosted it using Kahoot, the trivia game app that rewards quick and correct answers. If you’re not familiar, ask your kids—my daughter Lorelai and her friend certainly were! They were all in on the fun, and it added an energetic and family-friendly touch to the evening right off the bat. Afterward, everyone in the Q&A got to snap a quick photo with Seph. Even in that brief interaction, it was clear how genuine and kind he is. Later on, we had another chance to chat with both Seph and Jamie backstage, which made the experience even more personal and memorable for the girls—and for me.

A surprise for the night was the addition of a local opener, something I hadn’t expected until a fellow concertgoer mentioned it. It turned out to be none other than John Wesley, someone I had actually met earlier in line without realizing he was performing! I immediately recognized him from WinterJam 2024, and after his set, I made sure to have a proper introduction. John’s performance was heartfelt and spirited—he led with powerful original worship and even delivered a soul-stirring version of “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever,” which took me straight back to the Sonicflood days. His passion and fire for Jesus were contagious, and it was a beautiful way to set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Then came Jamie MacDonald, who brought a soulful, Southern charm to the stage with her signature hat and glasses. Her voice, honest and strong, resonated deeply as she performed familiar songs like “Who He Is,” “Desperate,” and “A Million Chances.” It honestly surprised me when she mentioned she was a newer artist—when you’ve had someone in your playlist rotation for a while, you just assume they’ve been around longer. Jamie brought both depth and vulnerability to her set, and I hope to see more of her live in the future.

Seph Schlueter hit the stage with “Running Back To You” and immediately pulled the crowd into a space of praise and joy. Throughout his set, he blended upbeat tracks with reflective worship moments, seamlessly switching between guitar, keyboard, and microphone. “Turn It To Praise” was a standout, and the stripped-down worship medley after intermission was a beautiful, prayerful moment that filled the room with reverence.

One particularly memorable part of the night was when Seph sang “Stay.” He began the song solo on the keyboard and, as the band returned, made his way through the crowd, singing with the audience, giving high-fives, and bringing a truly personal touch to the performance. That kind of intimate crowd connection is rare and powerful.

At one point, Seph paused the show to talk about his involvement with Compassion International. His heart for the mission was evident, and his encouragement to sponsor a child was sincere and moving. It brought everything back to the heart of the Gospel: loving others, especially those in need.

As if the night couldn’t get any more special, Seph surprised the crowd by bringing out a guest—Jeremy Rosado, a local favorite and fellow Kingdom Builder friend from Riverview. Together, they sang a song and Jeremy treated us to a verse from “Nothing.” It was an unexpected bonus and one of those moments you’re glad you were there to witness.

Before wrapping up with the tour’s namesake, “Counting My Blessings,” Seph and Jeremy read out prayers and blessings from two baskets at the merch table—one for prayer requests, and one for celebrating answered prayers. That mix of authenticity, joy, and praise perfectly captured the spirit of the evening.

This stop on the Counting My Blessings Tour may have taken place in a smaller church, but the night was anything but small. It was full of big worship, big connections, and big reminders of God’s goodness. I’m so glad we went, and I’d absolutely recommend catching this tour if it comes to your area.

Thank you again to our friends at TPR. for having us out for such a special night—we’re still counting our blessings from it!
