Jon Reddick and Rachel DeLong

Auburn, MA – June 28, 2025

I was really excited to see Jon Reddick again in concert. His music is amazing, and he was really nice when I met him 2 years ago. He and Terrian are actually the ones who started signing my brother’s sneakers. I really wish I brought another pair so he could have signed them. Pretty much wore those Signs shoes to school every day, and he actually kept up a tradition as he grew out of the shoes and got new ones—so many artists signed them. It was so cool. And it made Jacob feel really, really special.

We arrived early and met up with our friend Alex, who we met at the Seph and Kate concert. He is so nice, and we had a really fun time with him. It was really special.

Then we saw a really special friend from the Katy Nichole concert, and we got to meet the rest of his family. We caught up and prayed together. Now we Snap, and he checks in on me. Joe is so much fun, and next time—even if we have to give up front row to sit with him and his family—we will. You could hear him praising all the way from our seats, and his joy is contagious. When we were talking to him, another lady gave me two tiny Jesuses, and I gave her a bracelet and she seemed so happy. I love to make people smile.

The radio host (The Q 90.1), who I like to stream, and the pastor from the church came out and introduced Rachel DeLong.

Rachel DeLong is a local New Englander, and this was actually the stage she sang on when she was 13 years old!!!! Now she was there when she was 21 years old. Rachel was bullied too. She told everybody this show was very important and special to her. Rachel said that going through middle school and high school there (meaning the town we were in) was very hard. She said if anyone is in a position going through bullying and mental health issues, God sees you! She shared she has struggles with anxiety and depression. First, Rachel sang “Sweet Honey” and then “My Offering”, and that was awesome. She also looked so pretty and was wearing a black shirt and jeans. She talked about bullying some more and confidence, and it made me feel really good and I could really relate to what she was saying (unfortunately lol). She said this, and I asked my mom to write it down: “I can tell you who I am because of who He is.” Rachel said she wants to speak to the young girls and tell them they are worthy, chosen, and loved.
She also sang two of my favorite songs, which were “Gratitude” and “Reckless Love.” It was awesome that she did a Cory song because we all know how I feel about Cory. At the end, I ran up to the stage and gave her one of my bracelets and crosses. I was really nervous to do it, but I did it, and I was really proud of myself because it was hard.

Rachel was so good that everyone clapped so much and she did an encore. She also told us that Jon Reddick is so nice and that the person we see on stage is just as nice backstage and on the road as we see here. She closed with “Goodness of God.”

It was so exciting when Jon Reddick came out. He sang so many songs and he started out with “I Believe” and “You Keep Hope Alive.” He gave a shout-out to Mandisa. That was really nice. And then he introduced all of his bandmates, including Miss Betty on drums. It’s so cool that he has this amazing female drummer. We have seen her before, and I actually even got to meet her and get a picture with her. His guitar player, Dan, is really great too. Jon was really funny and talked a lot about his family and kids. Together—7 kids in one house and 2 dogs. That’s crazy! His poor wife when he is away. That’s a lot of kids and I could never handle that. He made a funny joke… He said:
Kids call me “Can I”
My wife calls me “Can you”—Can you take out the trash haha, get it??

Jon also sang a new song and some of the words were:
“The enemy might be loud but he has no say. The enemy thinks he has won but there’s no way.”
This is gonna be his next big song in my prediction. Jon also sang a lot of hymns, and it was just him for a lot of the time on the stage with his keyboard.

I really like when people talk and tell us about themselves and their story. Jon talked about his story and his wife’s journey a little too, and I am so glad God healed her and she is doing good. He even called his daughter on FaceTime and that was fun.

He told us that in February, when he was on tour and also trying to make an album at the same time (which he said was a mistake), his bride got sick. He told everybody that she would want him to tell everyone to go have one of those doctor’s visits so you can catch things in time. Go and get checked, everybody!!!! Jon said so, and I agree. It could save your life! He also thanked everybody for the prayers that they sent him and his family. Jon even told us about the song “Just That Good” and said it wasn’t supposed to be on the record, but it became one of the most important songs for his family.

Jon was also really funny—he told us about being the worst dad ever once when he took his kid on a Disney ride and she was too short for it but good news—she’s alive 😂. He just made everybody laugh. Parenting is hard. I can see that sometimes from a kid perspective.

This was a great night of worship, and of course, Jon sang some of my favorites like “Don’t Fight Alone,” “No Fear,” and “God Turn It Around,” which we blast in our kitchen or car when things get really hard. And then he sang some other favorites like “Great Are You Lord.”

After the show, I got to go to the merch table and it was so awesome because I got to see Crystal, who is the lady who runs Jesus in a Bar in Nashville. She was there with Rachel, but we had met her last summer when she was managing The Band Jaren and then again over GMA/Dove Awards weekend. She was so cool and she got me into a bar during GMA Awards week so I could see The Band Jaren at the Jesus in a Bar event because I love them so much. It was really nice of her to make those special arrangements so I could go, ’cause they don’t just let 11-year-olds into bars. She said she would try to arrange for me to go again this year. How kind is she?

We also got to talk to Rachel and she signed my hat. Then we were shocked that Jon came out himself and we got to talk to him. He remembered me from Wisconsin, and we showed him a picture of Jacob’s sneakers that he signed. Jon and Terrian were the first two people to sign Jacob’s sneakers and start this trend of the sneaker signing. Those sneakers have meant so much to Jacob. Jon spent so much time with me and it made me feel so special. I also got to talk to Ms. Betty the drummer and take a picture with her too. It was really an amazing night in so many ways and I left so happy.
People at concerts are always really nice to me and my brother even if we need to get up and take lots of breaks, and it’s just a happy and safe space.

This is my third concert review and I hope you are enjoying them because I am enjoying doing them. Maybe one day I’ll even get to interview someone.

Remember to just be kind and stand up for others, especially those that are getting picked on. Don’t be a bystander… Be an upstander.

If you would like me to mail you a bracelet, you can visit my page on Instagram and send me and my mom a message and we will mail you one. They are free.
