Concert Review: for King & Country – Rochester, NY – 4/20/23

Written by: Kelly Meade (5/1/23)

for King & Country’s What Are We Waiting For? tour came to the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY on April 20th with a high-energy night of music that not only entertained, but brought the message of hope through the life-giving love of God.

Brothers Joel & Luke Smallbone along with their immensely talented band never disappoint! From the opening performance of “Broken Halos” to the closing beats of “Little Drummer Boy”, the audience was blessed with uplifting, joy-filled songs of encouragement along with anthems of connection, healing and the grace of our Savior.

Some of my personal favorites that I loved hearing live were “Priceless”, “Burn The Ships”, “God Only Knows”, “Shoulders”, “Relate”, “Fix My Eyes”, “Fight On, Fighter”, “Proof Of Your Love” and of course, “joy.” is always a highlight!

The duo held the crowd’s attention throughout the entire night with their interactions and heartfelt words shared between songs. Another special treat was being able to see a preview of the upcoming film Unsung Hero based on the Smallbone family’s story that is sure to make an impact on viewers when it’s released.

There are a handful of artists that I will go see whenever possible because I know it’s going to be an evening that God will use not only in my life but in the lives of everyone able to be there – for King & Country is definitely one of those artists and I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to attend this concert! Highly encourage you to visit https://www.forkingandcountry.com/pages/tour to see when they’ll be in your area!
