LAUDED SINGER/SONGWRITER GINNY OWENS RETURNS TO THE ROAD AND READIES NEW MUSIC
NASHVILLE, Tenn.—A prolific songwriter and emotive vocalist whose heartfelt compositions have been embraced by critics and fans alike for more than two decades, Ginny Owens returns to the road this winter for a string of bicoastal dates. Performing a selection of career-spanning favorites, Owens is also set for the live debut of several new and unreleased tracks, including her latest single, October’s Gospel-tinged pop anthem “On Repeat.”
Penned by Owens and produced by Kyle Schonewill, “On Repeat” offers a sneak peek of Owens’ forthcoming EP, Different Kind of Water, which is slated for release in February. With its buoyant, infectious melody and encouragement to persevere through the twists and turns of life, the song has been showcased on Spotify’s All New Christian & Gospel and Christian Rising playlists, among others. “’On Repeat’ seems to be resonating with listeners—probably because we all know what it’s like to need to change the song playing on repeat in our minds to one that is true, good, and beautiful,” says Owens of the track’s reception.
Hitting the West Coast early next year, Owens will perform January 28 at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, among other dates to be announced. The New York City-based singer/songwriter returns home for a February 6 concert at Moshava Art in Greenwich Village, before heading to Nashville for her Different Kind of Water EP release celebration at the recently inaugurated Museum of Christian & Gospel Music on February 10.
In anticipation of sharing new music with audiences around the country, Owens says, “These songs have been written slowly and thoughtfully over several years. They wrestle with the things that grow more important as time goes by. I’m excited to take them on the road—to share the music with friends at concerts, and also the stories of how they came to be.”
