BRANDON LAKE DEBUTS HIGHLY ANTICIPATED, FAN FAVORITE NEW SINGLE, ‘THAT’S WHO I PRAISE’

Lake Breaks Records with Sixteen Nominations for the 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards

NASHVILLE, TENN. (July 29, 2024) — GRAMMY®-Award Winning singer/songwriter Brandon Lake debuts his latest single, “That’s Who I Praise.” This highly anticipated release has generated significant buzz among his global fanbase and within the Christian music community.

Lake teased a portion of the song to fans in April and was so inspired by the overwhelming response  he chose to fast-track the song to release as soon as possible. Fans have created thousands of their own videos on TikTok and Instagram using the pre-released audio.

The music video will debut on July 31, 2024 and will include a compilation of hundreds of fan videos.

“I am in awe of the response my new single, ‘That’s Who I Praise’ has gotten,” said Brandon Lake. “From social media, to the thousands of music video submissions, I decided to release this song way before the scheduled date. I hope this song shines light on who God was, is, and will forever be. This song is an anthem that takes the focus off of what we need from God, but more so praising God for simply who he is.”

“That’s Who I Praise” promises to continue Brandon Lake’s legacy of impactful worship music. Lake’s new anthem is a celebration, and an exaltation of God as the mountain-moving, body-raising, chain-breaking Savior.

Lake has added this hit to the setlist for the Summer Worship Nights Tour with Phil Wickham which kicks off on 8/1 in Detroit. Summer Worship Nights 2024 is already proving to be the top Christian tour of the summer with several shows already sold out.

Most recently, his song, “Gratitude,” hit number one on the Mediabase Impressions Chart as of 2023. Having spent a number of years releasing songs with Elevation Worship as well as Maverick City Music, he has taken home five GRAMMY® awards over the course of his professional music career, and he has been nominated for a total of ten. At the 2023 GRAMMY® Awards, he was nominated within five categories and received the following four awards: “Best Gospel Performance/Song” for “Kingdom” and “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song” for “Fear is Not My Future,” as well as “Best Gospel Album” for Kingdom Book One Deluxe and “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album” for Breathe. In 2022, he was awarded his first GRAMMY® for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album,” in recognition of the record, Old Church Basement. The 2021 GMA Dove Awards named Lake “Songwriter of the Year,” and at the same event, he was awarded “Worship Recorded Song of the Year” for the groundbreaking song, “Graves Into Gardens.” “This is a Move,” co-written with Tasha Cobbs Leonard, won a 2019 GMA Dove Award for “Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year,” and it was also nominated for a 2020 GRAMMY® Award. Lake’s full-length albums include HELP!, which serves as a declaration of truth and a “me too” in response to anyone who struggles with mental health — while his album, House of Miracles, was released in 2020 with a desire for the songs to become beacons of hope in homes across the world. Lake’s follow-up album COAT OF MANY COLORS has gone on to be one of the biggest releases in the genre of 2023, posting over 6M streams in its first week, and debuting at #1 on the Christian & Gospel Albums Billboard Chart. Its debut single PRAISE YOU ANYWHERE garnered nearly 2M streams in its first week, went #1 at radio for 8 weeks, and hit 40M streams in less than 6 months. Believing that people have so much more inside of them than they think possible, Lake longs to see Christians “live free and be everything that God has called them to be.”
