CAPITOL CMG ANNOUNCES THE SIGNING OF ARTIST AND SONGWRITER CHRIS DAVENPORT;

Debut Single “Plead The Blood” Is Out Now Featuring Cody Carnes And Brandon Lake

11 April 2023 – Nashville, TN – Capitol CMG announces the debut single from newly-signed artist and GRAMMY® nominated songwriter Chris Davenport is out now. “Plead The Blood,” which Davenport recorded with Cody Carnes and Brandon Lake, can be heard HERE. He wrote the song with Carnes and Lake along with Pat Barrett and Alexander Pappas. A raw live in-studio video of the song is below.

“When we wrote ‘Plead The Blood,’ we imagined a song that could serve as a spiritual applicator for Christians everywhere, a song that confesses the blood of Jesus over every area and circumstance in our lives,” Davenport explains. “So wherever you hear it, my prayer is that it reminds you of the most powerful defense, the most assured claim that you can wield — the blood of Jesus.”

Chris Davenport has been a quiet, yet mighty fixture within the worship community for years, co-writing many of the genre’s biggest songs, including Phil Wickham’s “Hymn Of Heaven,” “Too Good To Not Believe” by Brandon Lake, and Cody Carnes’ “Be Glad.” He also contributed to Hillsong Worship and UNITED songs “Another In The Fire,” “Grace To Grace,” and “Seasons.”

Established as a unique, authentic, influential voice and writer, it’s now time for Davenport to release his own music. His debut album, Time, is set to release June 30th and will include “Plead The Blood.” The album’s pre-order campaign is on now – click HERE to find out more.

Chris Davenport

“Here and now I draw a boundary
Against every weapon that’s formed
The thief and his plans will pass over
When he sees the Red on the door
I plead the blood, I plead the blood of Jesus

The enemy can’t take my family
‘Cause this home belongs to the Lord
So I’m not afraid to remind him
That he has no claim in this war
I plead the blood, I plead the blood of Jesus
It’s more than enough”
