Exclusive Music Video Premiere
Slow Coming Day’s Orion Walsh Offers A Prayerful, Folk-Infused Track
With “In Desperate Times”
February 28, 2025: Orion Walsh is a lifelong musician whose worshipful folk sound has matured from cross-genre experience. His mission of providing joy to others through music first brought him onto significant stages through the Tooth & Nail Records alternative rock band Slow Coming Day. Walsh toured the country with the band for years, continuing as a solo artist following their disbandment in 2006.
For over 15 years now, the singer, songwriter, and guitarist has been playing folk-influenced music. He has toured Europe 12 times, visiting a total of 15 countries in his seasoned career. That maturity is evident on his latest album Walking Through the Forest, which was produced in partnership with Lucas Kellsion (Andrea Von Kampen, Emma Harner) and Aaron Edwards (Miley Cyrus).
Walsh describes the project’s core themes as “heartbreak, loss, traveling, finding faith again, and coming home.”
Aspects of each one of those topics are present throughout “In Desperate Times.”
“‘In Desperate Times’ is a song about spending years in darkness and addiction, but then crying out to God for help,” Walsh reveals. “It’s a redemption story of being saved again by Grace, delivered from addiction, pulled from despair and heartbreak, and set on a path of freedom and recovery.”
In a moment of divine premonition, Orion Walsh filmed a music video for the song in Los Angeles shortly before the fires. The music video stands as a picture of coming redemption and healing for a place enveloped in city-wide heartbreak.
The music video is debuting exclusively on Today’s Christian Entertainment.
