Chosen Road is a group of musicians that have been using their talents to spread the Good News of Jesus throughout the USA and overseas since 2009. The group is comprised of founding member, Jonathan Buckner, as well as Zachary Alvis, Tyler Robertson, and Josh Hicks. Their newest album, It Never Gets Old, is an ode to some of the classic hymns, and stories and histories put to music. It is chock full of heart and harmonies that will prompt the listener to sway or dance along, and it is an easy way to recall all that the Lord has done for us. Some of the songs that were especially enjoyable for me are listed below.
AWAKE MY SOUL is the upbeat poetry of an old hymn. Such a great start to the album. “awake my soul and see God’s faithfulness declared…” I really enjoy their unique approach to hymns. Truly.
I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE YOU is a classic and known song, but super sweet and always worth a listen. It is such a lovely rendition.
THE STORM STILL KNOWS HIS VOICE feels like a Sunday morning favorite in church or in kids church.
ONE WILLING SOUL. I love the correlation of prophets of old compared to how God works today. It really is such an encouraging reminder. “You may never know of all the seeds you’ve sown. It just takes one willing soul to make it known… “
Anyone who loves bluegrass gospel music will enjoy Chosen Road’s It Never Gets Old. May it bless your hearts, dear listeners.
