HILLSONG WORSHIP GEARS UP FOR RELEASE OF HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED STUDIO ALBUM
“Awake” Drops Worldwide October 11, Available for Pre-Order Today Featuring Exclusive Track “No One But You”
LOS ANGELES (September 13, 2019) — With a 30 plus year history and legacy of live worship albums, Grammy Award winning Hillsong Worship is gearing up for the release of “Awake,” their first studio album in almost two decades. Dropping worldwide on Oct. 11, the compilation is available for preorder today and includes an exclusive track offer for “No One But You.”
Featuring the vocals of Brooke Ligertwood, Joel Houston, Taya, and Aodhan King, “Awake” is comprised of 12 newly penned tracks. It includes three bonus live/digital versions of “See the Light,” “No One But You,” and the group’s first single “King of Kings,” which continues to climb the charts with 4 million plus global audio streams and over 2 million YouTube views (live performance video).
Staying true to their roots, “Awake” does not depart from what people have grown to love and cherish with Hillsong Worship’s live albums, but rather hones and brings into clarity and fresh, vibrant color what has always been. The project aims to fuel a move of God on the earth to bring Christ the most glory possible, and is a direct reflection of Hillsong Church, a community of believers who love Jesus and His Church.
“We asked God to show us what He heard and then did our utmost to sonically depict what He showed us and go where He led us,” says Ligertwood. “We worshipped and pressed record. ‘Awake’ is the result. A sound that invites and calls forth; a lyrical journey that declares, exults, exalts and prophesies; a worship experience that invites the worshipper to go deeper, rise higher, love harder and AWAKE to what God (who is not finished) is doing on the earth and to how He is inviting all of us to be a part of it. ”
With over 2 billion career streams and over 20 million career album sales, Hillsong Worship is passionate about equipping and mobilizing believers everywhere with Christ-centered songs of God-glorifying worship for the building of the Church. For almost three decades, Hillsong Worship has served people across nations and generations.
Their latest album, “There Is More” broke the street-week record for audio/video streams in the Christian genre, debuting at #26 overall on the Billboard Top 200, #8 on Billboard Digital Albums, and #2 on the Christian and Gospel Billboard Top 100. Earning over 300 million total streams since its release, the project continues to garner awards and accolades and generated the chart-topping song “Who You Say I Am” which recently achieved RIAA-Certified Gold status.
In support of their new music, Hillsong Worship will join Casting Crowns and Elevation Worship for a special 2019 USA arena circuit this fall. Kicking off Nov. 1 in Memphis, Tenn., tickets for the tour are available for purchase at www.PremierProductions.com and https://hillsong.com/worship.
