22-Song Collection From the Hit Minno Animated Series Features Award-Winning Artists: Matthew West,
Bart Millard, Katy Nichole, Ellie Holcomb, Mac Powell, Steve Taylor, Ashley Cleveland & More

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 13, 2026) This summer, families can take the faith-filled fun of The Dead Sea Squirrels wherever they go with the release of The Dead Sea Squirrels: Season 1 (Original Soundtrack), available now on all major streaming platforms. Distributed by Dead Sea Squirrels, exclusively through Integrated Music Rights, the 22-song collection features every song from Season 1 of the hit animated series, bringing biblical lessons to life through memorable music, humor, and storytelling from VeggieTales co-creator Mike Nawrocki.

Already featured on Apple Music Kids’ “Sunday School Kids” playlist and Spotify’s “Christian & Gospel Kids” playlist, the soundtrack includes an all-star lineup of Christian artists including Matthew West, MercyMe’s Bart Millard, Katy Nichole, Ellie Holcomb, Mac Powell of Third Day, Steve Taylor and three-time GRAMMY® Award winner Ashley Cleveland. Additional performances include Matthew Ward, Durell Comedy, Mike Nawrocki, Jenny Littleton, Mazzy Mason, Christopher Bailey, Aaron Armstrong, Rob Howard, Duncan Phillips, Henry O. Arnold, The Golden Hours and James Wier.

“I’m so excited for families to hear The Dead Sea Squirrels Season 1 soundtrack,” says Mike Nawrocki, series creator and voice of Merle Squirrel. “The songs are fun and super catchy, but they also carry biblical lessons and themes that parents can feel good about. My hope is that kids will want to sing them again and again, and that the truths in the lyrics will stay with them long after the music stops.”

The soundtrack gives families a screen-free way to continue the biblical lessons introduced in the animated series during everyday moments: from car rides and school drop-off to family time and church activities. Children revisit themes of kindness, honesty, diligence, mercy, self-control and trusting God, while also exploring the Nativity, Jesus’ earthly ministry, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection through fun, repeat-worthy songs parents can feel good about.

“One of the joys of The Dead Sea Squirrels has been making music for kids that never feels like an afterthought,” says Steve Taylor, animated series producer, performer and co-writer of “The Dead Sea Squirrels Theme Song.” “We wanted every song to be funny, memorable and musically strong while still serving the story and the biblical truth at the heart of each episode. Having so many gifted friends lend their voices made the soundtrack even more special.”

The soundtrack accompanies Season 1 of The Dead Sea Squirrels, now streaming exclusively on Minno. The first season, which premiered last year, includes 13 episodes, each centered around a biblical lesson or passage. Created by Mike Nawrocki, co-creator of VeggieTales, co-founder of Big Idea Entertainment and the longtime voice of Larry the Cucumber, The Dead Sea Squirrels was born from his desire to help children connect with the Bible and the life and teachings of Jesus through humor, unforgettable characters and imaginative storytelling.

Based on Nawrocki’s best-selling children’s book series published by Tyndale Kids, the animated series follows 10-year-old Michael and two squirrels, Merle and Pearl, who were preserved in Dead Sea salt for 2,000 years. After unexpectedly returning to life in modern-day Tennessee, the squirrels use their firsthand knowledge of Jesus’ teachings to help Michael and his friends navigate everyday challenges with biblical wisdom.

The first book in the series, Squirreled Away, recently surpassed 100,000 copies sold, introducing families to Merle and Pearl’s unique blend of adventure, comedy and Scripture. The franchise continues to expand with Season 2 currently in production, the recent release of Book 13, Cybersquirrels, and Book 14, Field Day Frenzy, arriving October 6, 2026. The new soundtrack also builds upon three previously released themed EPs: The Squirrel SessionsHe’s Alive! and The Squirrels’ Guide to Good Choices.

Beyond books, music and television, The Dead Sea Squirrels recently partnered with the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., to create an interactive scavenger hunt within Dead Sea Scrolls: The Exhibition. Developed alongside Hobby Lobby’s creative team, the experience features 10 motion-based interactive kiosks where children join Merle and Pearl to search virtual caves for Dead Sea Scroll fragments and assemble complete Bible verses. Created in partnership with the Israel Antiquities Authority and Running Subway, the exhibition remains open through September 7, 2026.
