Worship leaders everywhere, including this author, wait with anticipation for the next Elevation Worship song release. Despite any potential controversy over prosperity teachings within Elevation Church, Elevation Worship’s songs are widely popular in the Christian modern music scene and within churches everywhere for their biblically sound lyrics and Spirit-evoking music (see their continuous high scripture scores on thebereantest.com, a useful tool for worship leaders to rank songs biblically for congregational worship use). Elevation Worship songs are appreciated for their ability to provide a vertical link between you and God, to worship in the way He deserves with heart and soul, and for describing the power only a relationship with Jesus can reveal. Their songs have a unique ability to lead people into worship and into God’s presence.
The same holds true for their newest album, So Be It, with multiple songs already released since last year being used for worship among congregations worldwide. The overarching theme of the album is the authority of Jesus’ name, that His name is the most powerful name that can move mountains, save anyone, and is the name we should call on every day. The title song, “So Be It,” may be the perfect 2026 Easter worship song — a powerful punctuation mark on the story of Jesus’ resurrection and defeat over death and the enemy. The song lyrics tell the story of the cross and convey the finality and authority of Jesus’ last words as a man, “It is done,” but any worshiper will feel the Spirit in the form of goosebumps during the final bridge, “He’s alive, He’s alive, He’s alive, He’s alive.”
Another standout, “I Know A Name,” is already a favorite in churches everywhere and has more than 25 million airplays on Spotify alone. There is nothing like hearing this song worshiped in church with several hundred people raising their voices singing “Jesus.” You can feel the atmosphere in the church completely change and feel Jesus near when this song starts, as even those who don’t enjoy musical worship sing along. The strong drum lines make this song, as the beats punctuate all His names (healer, savior, Jesus) and the gates of hell shaking and chains breaking.
Already published as a single as well, “Jesus Be the Name” is the final standout of this album and another emphasis on the power of the name like no other names, Jesus. The lyrics ring true to any Christian with a strong personal relationship with the Savior, that anytime we call on the name of Jesus we are overwhelmed with love and awe, feelings that cannot be evoked by any other name. There is just something about His name, especially called in deep musical worship, that makes you feel blessed and thankful that He chose to save you. The song’s lyrics and music get to the heart of these feelings and provide a perfect experience to worship and be in the presence of Jesus.
This album is another great one in the long line of albums from Elevation Worship. If you’re looking for songs to help your congregation worship the perfect God and King, or to enhance your own personal worship relationship with God, this is the album to do it with.
