Leanna Crawford Thank God

Released: July 24, 2026 (Sony/Provident)

Review By: Celita Diaz-Perillo

Contemporary Christian music artist, Leanna Crawford, releases her Thank God album on July 24th. The entire album was edifying and encouraging to my soul. The general feel of the album’s songs felt like support, hope, grace, peace, and love- like a hand up after a fall I didn’t know I’d had, somehow. Even in the songs talking about challenges and facing those challenges!

So many of the songs reminded me of things that had gotten so pushed-to-the-back-of-my-brain because of “Life” and time and age, and it was refreshing to remember again. It was a gentle prodding of a “caring friend” to heed important things. I am so glad I sat down, more than once, to soak it up and feel each song.

I marvel at the cadence of the words, the harmonies, and how the album is full of, what I can only say is like, conversational poetry evangelically shared to our hearts and minds and souls.

All of the songs deserve their explanation here, but for the sake of keeping things short, I chose a few that touched my heart in one way or another.

1) BORROW MINE is such a supportive song. It has pep, gives affirmation, and encourages the listener to keep going.

2) THANK GOD is really about gratitiude, and a reminder to just let go and let God write our story.

3) REVENGE threw me off guard, honestly. Check out these lyrics! “What if forgiveness is the best kind of revenge?” I felt very “seen”.

4) Living Room Floor took me back to my teens when I lived at home with my parents. So many things shared in those lyrics that felt like they came directly from my own journals. It was like facing young me, with all the insecurities and questions. It wasn’t easy, nor hard; rather, it was a tearful relieving moment where I could see how far God has brought me. The Lord is so faithful and good!

BONUS: There was NO way that I could end this review here without sharing one more song.

Every woman and girl should listen to it. It is called HER. The lyrics lay before us the battle against the “her” comparisons- the comparisons we make about ourselves in relation to other women and girls. These lyrics are still nagging my brain. “God made me to be me, He didn’t make me to be her.” Did you feel that? So did I.

I know that I got emotionally involved on this one. I felt the songs deeply, and want to keep listening and abiding in the Godly reminders within the lyrics. I hope that you do listen to Thank God, and I would be so honored if you would let me know your thoughts on the album if you do listen to it. Blessings, friends.
