Ellie Holcomb ‘Red Sea Road’

Singer/songwriter Ellie Holcomb’s new album, Red Sea Road, is the therapeutic result of a season of heartache & trials. As Ellie and several close to her journeyed through this time, the songs that came from the experiences are a beautiful collection that point to God’s love, grace & faithfulness.

Opening track, “Find You Here”, tells of the comforting fact that in the uncertainty of fear and anxious times, we will find God’s presence as He calms us with His love and will be true to His promise to carry His children through our most difficult moments.

The title cut, “Red Sea Road”, reiterates that even when we are called to step out of our comfort zone or faced with the mystery of the unknown, God will make a way for us if we trust Him and follow His lead. Much like the Israelites as they traveled to the Promised Land, if we step out in faith, God promises to guide us to our destination, parting the seas of doubt and calming the waves of discouragement that threaten to overtake us.

“You Are Loved” reminds listeners of their worth in Jesus’ eyes. When we feel that we’ve failed and are undeserving of grace, His love never ceases. No matter what we’ve done or how far we’ve run away, He will always be willing to accept and forgive.

“Fighting Words” declares God’s truth over the lies we’re lead to believe. Though the voice of the enemy attempts to tear us down, if we keep our eyes on our Savior and remember that we have been set free and God has a purpose & meaning for our life, we can overcome whatever tries to make us think otherwise.

“Rescue” is a cry for revival & answers to the feeling of emptiness and despair that turns into a prayer of thankfulness upon realizing that God is the answer to the questions and He is the only One who can truly fill up the spaces of loneliness that occupy our hearts.

“Man Of Sorrows” closes the album with a poignant ballad that presents the story of Jesus’ sacrifice and the gift of salvation in a way that reminds us our Lord understands the struggles and grief we face. Jesus overcame them and became our source of hope when He conquered death and the prison of the grave.

As a whole, Red Sea Road, offers comforting words and soothing melodies that draw the hearts of listeners closer to God, shining light into the darkness and bringing us into His peace.
