Redemption – A Championship Story of Faith and Football

Where to Watch: Streaming exclusively on The Wonder Project channel on Prime Video.

As someone whose heart beats for both Jesus and the Ohio State Buckeyes, the release of Redemption felt like it was made specifically for me. This new documentary series, presented across three powerful episodes and clocking in at nearly two hours (114 minutes) in total, streaming exclusively on the newly launched Wonder Project subscription on Prime Video, is a masterful retelling of the 2024 championship season—but it is so much more than a highlight reel. It is a testament to how faith can transform a locker room, a university, and ultimately, the world.

From The Horseshoe to the League

For Buckeye fans, the football narrative alone is worth the price of admission. The documentary offers unprecedented access to the key playmakers who brought the trophy back to Columbus. It was surreal watching the behind-the-scenes journey of guys we now watch on Sundays: Emeka Egbuka (now making plays for the Buccaneers), TreVeyon Henderson (running hard for the Patriots), and Will Howard (suiting up for the Steelers).

Hearing their raw, unfiltered perspectives on the pressure and the glory of that 2024 run was incredible. The production value is elevated by top-tier commentary from Heisman winner and 2x national champion Tim Tebow, legendary coach Urban Meyer, and the voice of College GameDay, Rece Davis. They provide the football context that grounds the story, reminding us just how difficult the mountain is to climb.

A Revival in Columbus

However, what truly sets Redemption apart is its heart. This isn’t just a story about winning games; it’s about winning souls. The film fearlessly dives into the spiritual awakening that swept through the locker room, largely catalyzed by the boldness of players like Gee Scott Jr. In fact, hearing Gee Scott Jr. speak about his life verse, Romans 8:28“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”—was a deeply powerful, personal moment. Like Gee, this verse has always been a bedrock for me, a reminder that God’s purpose is not only obtainable through Him, but life-affirming, even when faced with trouble.

The interviews reveal that the 2024 season wasn’t powered solely by grit or talent, but by a surrender to this purpose. Seeing these young men open up about their identity in Christ was deeply moving. The documentary captures a specific moment in time where Columbus, Ohio, felt like the epicenter of a revival. To see The Ohio State University—a secular institution known for football dominance—become a beacon of faith was the ultimate victory. As a Christ follower, it was inspiring to see how their “Redemption” wasn’t just about avenging a loss to a rival or winning a title; it was about finding redemption in the Cross.

Final Verdict

Redemption is the perfect intersection of elite sports storytelling and genuine, faith-driven inspiration. It reminds us that while trophies tarnish, the impact of a life lived for Jesus lasts forever.

Moreover, subscribing to this exclusive channel unlocks a growing library of inspirational content, including the exclusive home for House of David Season 2 and the highly anticipated for KING + COUNTRY documentary, No Turning Back (premiering 11/23/25).
