Jordan St. Cyr ‘My Foundation’

Singer/songwriter Jordan St. Cyr’s sophomore album, My Foundation, is one that I have been looking forward to for a while & it does not disappoint! With hints of gospel, rock & folk influences throughout, this collection of encouraging anthems as well as stories of trusting God in the darkest of times is an album that many will be able to relate to as we all experience trials that put our faith & hope to the ultimate test.

“To Save My Life” opens the album recognizing the life-giving sacrifice of Jesus & the fact that His triumph over death has also given us victory over every battle that comes our way when we choose to accept Him as our Savior.

Title track “My Foundation” declares a solid trust in Jesus depicting our faith as a house weathering storms in life that may try to shake & rattle us, but with a secure foundation built on the truth & promises of the Lord we can remain intact as we keep our eyes, heart & mind fixed on Him.

“Help” is a prayer of desperation crying out to our Heavenly Father to intervene in the way that only He can. This song also stands out musically as the beautiful string arrangement adds to the emotion-packed lyrics.

“The Promise” boldly states a steadfast belief in God’s faithfulness, unfailing grace & goodness no matter what comes against us knowing we are never alone in the midst of the struggle.

“Rescue” is a personal favorite as it recounts the times that Jesus has remained true to His word & carried us through the most difficult circumstances.

“A Way For Us” chronicles the journey that Jordan & his family have been on these past few years as they followed the calling placed on Jordan’s life to pursue music. Through the changes, scary unknowns, highest of highs & lowest of lows, Jordan sings of keeping hold to God’s promise that He will not abandon those who love Him & will make a way through it all.

“Something Greater” points to the everlasting love we have in our Heavenly Father that surpasses anything we may be seeking here on earth. Even when it can be hard to fully grasp, His is a love we can always count on.

“Life Before You” tells of the transformation that takes place in a person’s life when they choose to accept Jesus as their Savior & live for Him. When you experience all He has to give, old desires no longer hold the power they once did.

Closing track “God Did A Good Thing” reaffirms trust in God’s perfect plan as His story of our lives unfolds, echoing the assurance of Romans 8:28 & believing that all things ultimately work together for good.

Jordan St. Cyr’s My Foundation delivers heartfelt songs of faith & navigating through the challenges we face with our feet firmly planted on the Rock of our salvation. Each track co-written by St. Cyr remind listeners of the hope we have in a relationship with our Savior while Jordan’s solid vocals & musical arrangements come together to bring the message of the lyrics to life.
