🎧 Mike’s Weekly Fresh 4 – May 9, 2025 🎧

Mental Health Awareness Month Edition
This week’s picks highlight powerful themes of healing, surrender, identity, and praise—perfect for Mental Health Awareness Month. It wasn’t easy narrowing it down with so much great music out this week, but here are four standout tracks that moved me.

🟡 Grace Graber – “Better Now”

One of our favorites at Today’s Christian Entertainment and Kingdom Builder, Grace Graber is back with another signature pop-punk anthem. “Better Now” hits with serious Hawk Nelson vibes—energetic verses, a dynamically slower chorus, and a guitar solo that rips near the end. For those familiar with Grace’s personal story (check our interview), this track will hit even deeper. It’s authentic, bold, and deserves to stay in your rotation.

🟡 Hope Harding – “Healing”

Hope Harding pulls no punches in this brutally honest and vulnerable song that paints a raw picture of mental health struggles. Lyrics like “If this is healing, why does healing hurt so bad?” will resonate with many. Hope is slated to be a featured guest in our Mental Health Awareness Month Kingdom Builder series, and this track is a perfect preview of her heart.

🎧 Standout lyrics:

“Tug of war inside my brain / I feel the things that I can’t say…”

🟡 Lin D – “Yahweh”

The Swedish sibling trio returns with a fun, praise-filled pop track that brings their sound back into the spotlight. If you saw them on Winter Jam 2024, you’ll already know why they’re special. “Yahweh” is a high-energy reminder of who God is and why He’s worthy of all our praise. Joyful, catchy, and worth adding to your upbeat worship playlist.

🟡 Natural State – “What If You Let Go”

This Nashville-based band delivers a heartfelt anthem of surrender, and wow—what a track. With lyrics encouraging listeners to release control and trust God, “What If You Let Go” is a perfect fit for those needing comfort and assurance. The production is tight, the message clear, and the impact undeniable. Honestly… this may be my favorite this week.

🎧 Standout lyrics:

“What if you let go / Give up the control / Surrender it to God and let Him hold it all.”

🌟 Honorable Mentions

  • MercyMe x Walker Hayes – “Oh Death” (Reimagined)

    A country-flavored reworking of a personal favorite.

  • Jeremy Camp – “Again” (ft. Arie & Bella Camp)

A beautiful family collaboration with tight harmonies and fresh emotional weight.

🧠 Reflection:

Mental Health Awareness Month gives us a chance to spotlight songs that go deeper than surface-level praise—they minister in the midst of the storm. These artists are telling their stories, and through that vulnerability, we hear hope.

Until next week—keep Christ at the center, and everything else will follow. You are loved. You are never alone. 💛
