Sanctus Real ‘Unstoppable God’

No matter what we’re called to accomplish or by whom, doubt has a way of creeping in past our defenses. Even the heroes of the Bible struggled with this; Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, Moses, Gideon, Peter, Thomas…they all had moments where they wondered if what God had promised would really come to pass.

Though the roadblocks and obstacles are many, we must remember that we have a powerful ally who plows through every one without fail. Sanctus Real reminds us that we serve a God who is not cowed or conquered by any difficulty. Unstoppable God lays bare the rock we stand upon, proving that He is equal to anything we ask of Him, and that anything He asks of us is possible.

“More” revels in the fact that what little we’ve seen and experienced of God’s work in our lives is only the tip of the iceberg. His love and power is unlimited, surpassing our expectations. When we feel as if we cannot last another moment in the shadow of death, struggling under the crippling weight of trials, He breaks the strongholds and delivers us from them.

“Unending Hope” proclaims God to be our most basic need in any circumstance, good or bad. We can count on Him to to be a consistently faithful and merciful ally. Though everything else is shifting and changing, He never does.

“As I Am” rejoices that God accepts us in our fallen state and doesn’t require us to change before we come to Him. He changes us by the power of His sacrifice so that we are no longer defined by the things we have done, no longer held captive by our weaknesses and fears.

“Jesus Loves You” demonstrates how the message of Jesus’ unconditional, unwavering love has the power to pull us out of despair. It is the spark that can catch fire in the heart of a child and be rekindled at any time in the future. Knowing that He created us for His good purposes and died to rescue us from the punishment we deserved proves His love for us.

“I Will Forgive You” takes a different tack on the subject of forgiveness, by depicting the struggle it can be to forgive someone who has wronged you. Though difficult, the rewards are worth the risks; we break out of the prison of bitterness slowly and surely.

“Confidence” recognizes that although we’re unqualified, unlikely heroes, we don’t have to worry because that’s why God chose us; to reveal His glory, not our ability. If He can elevate cowards and peasants and prisoners to positions of power, and do mighty works through them, how much more can He use us in spite of our inadequacies? We can stand up to our enemies with full assurance that God is with us and will bring the victory.

“A Million Ways” declares the many ways that God has demonstrated His goodness in our lives. He makes something beautiful out of our brokenness, heals us from painful emotional wounds, and grants us grace though we’ve done nothing to be deemed worthy of it. He has always been faithful to us.

“Lazarus” describes a spiritual awakening in terms of a bodily one by using Jesus’ resurrection of Lazarus as a metaphor. Being delivered from sin’s death to Christ’s life feels like being given a new body fully capable of seeing, feeling, and understanding what we never could before.

“Unstoppable God” admits to doubt and weakness, yet clings unwaveringly to the promise that nothing is stronger than God. Obstacles that seem insurmountable to us are nothing to Him. He vaults over every wall and crashes through every barrier. Any voice that tries to say differently is lying.

“Love Like Yours” proclaims everything we use as a substitute for God’s love to be woefully inadequate. All we find is more emptiness and futility instead. With God, we can be ourselves and still be loved. No matter where we look, we’ll never know a love that compares to His.

Try as the world might, God’s plan and purpose for our lives will not be thwarted. Even our biggest mistakes don’t disqualify us from being a part of His will. Unstoppable God proves that our pasts, probability, and weaknesses are no match for God’s power. Sanctus Real assures us that when God is in our corner, the odds are in our favor.
