The Long Running Podcast Debuted in 2008 and Later as a One-Hour Variety Radio Show in August 2016 and Has Featured Many Special Guests Including Reba McEntire, Journey’s Jonathan Cain, Jeremy Camp and Many Others. 100th Show Will Feature CCM Legend Steven Curtis Chapman
TAMPA, FL (May 4, 2020) – TCE’s co-founder Jay Heilman is no stranger to radio. Prior to launching the music review site Christian Music Review in September 2004, he once hosted a weekly talk-radio show in the Tampa-area called That Show! With Greg and Jay. That experience would lay the foundation for the program he hosts now with Kingdom Builder (KB). “I never thought anything would come of the podcast when I first launched it in 2008” Heilman recalls “I started it with an interview with action superstar Dolph Lundgren. My thought back then was, if that was the only interview I ever did, then I’d be happy and feel I accomplished something great.” Twelve years and over 100 guests later, Heilman has hit a new mark with the 100th full-length show of KB. “God has really continued to open doors with this show. I am not only honored to have been able to do this for this long, but it has truly been a thrilling ride” Heilman continues.
In that time, Heilman has had a lot of help from PR veterans in the Christian music industry as well. Lori Heiselman of Biscuit Media Group said “Over the years, Jay and his team at Kingdom Builder and Today’s Christian Entertainment have been an essential part of our campaigns. Their content is exceptional! But more than that, Jay has become a great friend.” and Sundari PR’s Christina Garvin added “I have always enjoyed working with Jay and the entire Kingdom Builder team. They do their research, are personable with everyone and shine a light on industry veterans and breakout artists.”
Several of the talent that have appeared on the show in that time have chimed in with the same sentiment. Singer-songwriter John Waller said “Jay and I connected right after my first national album The Blessing released in 2007. He was one of the first to affirm me as an artist. We became friends and has remained a huge encouragement to me on my faith journey. So excited to see him achieve this milestone for Kingdom Builder!” Actor and Comedian Michael Joiner adds “I’ve had a great time being interviewed on KB. Jay has a wonderful ministry promoting the up-and-coming performers as well as the seasoned pros.” and up-and-coming artist Jason Fowler says, “KB has always put the message of the Gospel first and gives so many artists the platform to share their own stories and testimonies of Redemption and Grace.”
KB’s upcoming 100th show on May 8, 2020 will feature an interview with one of the most decorated and accomplished artists in Christian music history, with Steven Curtis Chapman. Heilman says “While it was just a coincidence that SCC joins me for #100, I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than to have one of most successful artists in the history of CCM join me. It was truly and honor to have him join us for this special show.”
