I’ve definitely been in a very worshipful mood lately, and it just speaks to my current faith walk. That’s why when I heard about Southland and their debut album under their new name, Like the World Has Never Seen, I knew I needed to talk to them and give it a listen. As a fan of live shows, I was excited that they chose to record a live worship album, a topic I discussed in my conversation with two of the group’s members, Lachlan Holmes and Brooklyn Bechard.

Right from the first track, “He Is The Lord,” the album sets the tone with a powerful moment of worship. The energy builds into the second track, which emphasizes the resounding truth: “God is good, all the time, and all the time, He’ll never leave your side. And every high and every low, our God is good, He’ll never let you go.” You can feel the depth of worship in the room where they recorded the album—what a way to start!

Each track that follows continues to cultivate an atmosphere of worship that makes you want to sing out loud and raise your hands in praise. As Lachlan and Brooklyn shared in our conversation, the album carries a strong call for revival. That message is especially powerful in today’s world, where hope and faith are more important than ever.
