Trip Lee is well known for wearing many hats. He’s not just a Stellar and Dove Award–winning recording artist, but also an author, pastor, and leader of the BRAG movement.

It’s no surprise that he is taking his talents to the worship genre, because art is fluid. His upcoming EP release, For Your Glory, is like no other. Throughout his music career, Trip has enthralled listeners with metaphors and imagery through his lyricism that resonates with the masses. In a recent podcast with Southside Rabbi, Trip explained the change of pace with this project. He calls this new movement “BRAG Worship.” He says he knows he’s not a worship leader, but he is a worshiper, and worship music is really important. Worship is something God has commanded us to do; it is how He grows His Church (Trip Lee).

Most would ask the question: Why the pivot? Throughout the podcast, he further elaborated on how he has had this idea in his heart for a long time. He even jokes that it would be hard to rap verses in worship. Trip states that this is “a collection of songs that were written for Christians, churches, and even small groups to be able to sing together.”

The production from start to finish shows that BRAG Worship has carved out its own lane. When you think of a traditional worship song, what comes to mind may be hymnals and slow-paced music. For Your Glory is upbeat, and you can hear Trip Lee’s signature sound throughout the composition. In every track, you still get the subtle undertones of traditional hymns. The combination of tradition with lively energy is exactly what the artist intended—bringing something to the table that is palatable for the congregation.

The project features Naomi Raine, Madison Ryann Ward, and DOE, just to name a few. The first two tracks, the title track “For Your Glory” and “Draw My Eyes,” are streaming now on all platforms. In just these two songs alone, you can observe how deeply Trip Lee wanted to go with this EP as an all-out display of worship and praise. Throughout every word written, you can feel it resonate within your spirit.

What makes this direction so impactful is that Trip Lee felt led to make a project outside his usual scope of practice. He stepped in humility and embarked on a path that challenged him while sharpening his tools. The project encourages the body of Christ to cast out worries, cry out to God, praise Him, give thanks, and lay everything at His feet.

The Bible shows many examples of worship being used to give God praise. In Exodus 15:20, God brings the Israelites across the Red Sea, and in the book of Psalms, we see how David cried out to God. BRAG is his brand, and making much of the Lord is the goal. As he states, “We were made by God to make much of God” (Trip Lee).

So yes—pivot with purpose was achieved. As listeners anticipate the album’s release, they are in store for an ensemble that showcases Trip Lee’s range while remaining rooted in his mission to BRAG about God.
