Bryan & Katie Torwalt ‘Champion’

Champion is the third full-length release from Jesus Culture Music artists, Bryan and Katie Torwalt.  The married duo certainly does shine throughout this album. Katie leaves a strong first impression as soon as that majestic voice is sung on the first track “Let There Be Light.”

Right away you can tell the album is very well produced and the vocal quality is top notch. I would describe this album as “Large” worship with a very big sound. Katie and Bryan have different, but yet pleasing voices.

The second track “World of Grace” lead by Bryan combines a fun energy worship song blended with a melodic sound. I couldn’t help but think “this is a Christian Cold Play song,” and I mean that in a good way.

The title Track “Champion” lives up to the name. I envision this song being sung at churches across the world at services. The song truly shows we are all Champions in Christ.

I really enjoyed the track “Mountain” which had a very catchy chorus and great message. The song reminds of how great our Lord’s love really is.

I was moved by the last track “Praise Will Be My Song.” The song captured the essence of singing in pure worship. It gave a more intimate feel then the other tracks, ending the album in peaceful calm.

The only downside of this album were some of the tracks sounded a little to similar. You definitely can tell this is a Jesus Culture-based record.

Overall this album provides a deep worship and positive message. The album is worth a listen and several songs could easily be implemented into a Sunday service. Grab a copy and worship with Bryan and Katie Torwalt.
