for King & Country ‘What Are We Waiting For?’

The highly anticipated new release from for King & Country, What Are We Waiting For?, showcases stories of forgiveness, hope, unity & grace through a timely collection of songs.

“Relate” opens the album with its message of compassion and considering the differences we have as individuals while also seeing that in many ways through empathy, understanding and conversation we as humans have more in common than we think.

“For God Is With Us” explores the story of Jesus’ life from the manger to the cross and the eternal impact having a relationship has on each of us when we choose to believe and accept Him as our Savior.

“Hold On Pain Ends” encourages listeners that there is healing beyond the current circumstance while acknowledging that sometimes it can be difficult to continue hoping and praying when we can’t see the end in sight, but we are also reminded that nothing is wasted and there is a purpose for the pain.

“Together”, featuring Kirk Franklin & Tori Kelly, is a song that seemed to come out at just the right time as many of us have been struggling to comprehend much of what has been happening in recent years. It’s very easy to feel helpless and as if nothing we do or say makes any difference when there’s so much trying to divide us. But, even a small gesture, thoughtful word or act of kindness can start to build bridges and when we can come together, treat each other with respect and be present for one another, change can truly begin.

“Benediction” closes the album with a prayer that recounts the faithful promises of our Heavenly Father and expresses the desire to see and love others the way God does.

With overall themes of unity, having compassion on your fellow man and celebrating that we were all created to show the love of God through our lives, What Are We Waiting For? speaks into these times of division and disrespect that have been so evident. Throughout the album, brothers Joel & Luke highlight the need for mercy, peace and being there for people around us to encourage them as they face the challenges of life. The tone of this album feels different from the duos past releases and yet is still unmistakably for King & Country as it presents the messages within the songs as only they can.
