Garry Kean ‘Press’

Singer/songwriter and humanitarian Garry Kean & his wife, Brenda, along with their daughters, serve as workers in the impoverished communities of Nairobi, Kenya, Africa. Together they work with the Jacaranda Community organization that trains women in a skilled trade so that they may provide for their children. With all of the proceeds going to further the organization’s cause, Garry spotlight’s his faith & passion for worship on the new album, Press.

The title track, “Press”, elaborates on the words of Philippians 3:14, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”, reminding listeners to keep going and trusting our Lord through whatever trial they face.

“Worship In My Car” celebrates taking our faith outside the walls of the church as we can live a life of praise & worship wherever we go and in all we do.

“Love Barged In” tells of the change that takes place in someone’s life when they accept Jesus into their hearts as His love, peace & grace enters in.

“Faithful Age To Age (feat. Marianne Adams)”, praises God in the midst of the storms of life for His unceasing and never ending faithfulness to fulfill His promises as we remember that He is worthy of our trust.

Overall, Press gives listeners pop-infused worship with a few strong tracks. In my personal opinion, while the tunes are quite catchy, the song lyrics at times are lacking authenticity. Even with a few flaws, the message of God’s love & provision is still evident.
