Andrew Greer released Tune My Heart in 2020 and is following up the successful album with a
sequel. Taking on the full title, Tune My Heart 2…Songs of Goodness and Love, the follow up
album is sure to hit the hearts of many. There is a beautiful mix of lyrical and musical
arrangements flooding into this project. In the current age of music, there are certain styles that
are popular and a lot of artists tend to stick to what they know. Greer and friends make an
impression that is sure to sound different than all the other music out there.
Sharing the stage with artists such as Anthony Evans, Joel Lindsey, Allan Hall, and many more
as well as being produced by Travis Patton and Kyle Buchanan, there is no way to ignore the
genius and outpouring of love put into this record.
The second track on the project is a melodic version of “Be Thou My Vision” that makes use of
the beautifully written instrumental part of the music. Starting off the song with a powerful violin
solo that leads into a passionate piano part soon combining into one – making this track one to
put on repeat.
Track three, titled “What Love Can Do”, starts off with a sweeping intro that leads into clear
vocals. The lyrics that accompany this track have great and true meaning, something not found in
a lot of Christian music today. We get this beautiful build up into the chorus that raises and falls
with each verse.
“What A Friend We Have In Jesus” is the fifth track on the album and starts off with a simple,
but melodic piano part. The simplicity of this song is what gives it life and a favorite one to play
while worshipping.
Track number 10, “I Need Thee Every Hour”, has a synth like sound to begin that ushers in
passionate vocals. Not too long into the track, guitar is added and gives the song a much-needed
lift. This song is a great one to praise the Lord to in your quiet time, to sing or to just listen along
to.
The final track on the album, “Aurora (A Blessing)”, brings in a lovely violin melody and keeps
the intensity of the track throughout the song. This song is my favorite on the album because of
the combination and uniqueness of sounds.
Altogether, this project is very well put together. There are a few songs that sound similar
throughout the album, but that does not change the beauty of it. Tune My Heart 2 is a great
album to listen to in worship or sing along to.
