Jenn Johnson Happy
Released: May 22, 2026 (Bethel Music)

A long-time worship leader, singer, and songwriter, Bethel’s Jenn Johnson has finally released her first solo album, Happy. You might know here best from her biggest hits “Goodness of God” and “Holy Forever”. After years of work with Bethel, she has ventured out on her own, and her album does not disappoint.
Happy features nine new songs, some of them collaborations with other worship artists such as Brooke Ligertwood, Abbie Gamboa, and Kari Jobe, a hymn, and a surprise guest appearance by one of her children. The album’s message is that of a deep walk with God and Jesus in both her worship life and her personal life. Her love of the Lord is clear in songs such as “Walk With Me” and “Love of Christ”, as well as her love of her husband Brian Johnson in “Here In Your Arms”.
“Walk With Me” is a song that is personal to anyone who listens. It speaks of our daily lives, where we struggle so much with our problems that we sometimes even distance ourselves from God. However, the real truth is that no matter how distant we might make ourselves, or however distracted, we are truly never away from God, He is always there with us through it all. “Here In Your Arms”, a duet with her husband Brian, is a testimony to what marriage is when God stays at the center and heart of a relationship. Each song on the album reflects Jenn’s masterful ability to write songs that honor God, both lyrically and musically.
The only criticism of this album is that for a solo album there are very few actual solo songs: most of the songs are collaborations with other big-name artists. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, those who enjoy listening to Jenn Johnson may be disappointed to not hear more Jenn Johnson on this album. Jenn is a talented long-time artist who could stand on her own two feet and carry songs on her own. Here’s hoping that her next solo venture is truly solo: we’d love to hear all Jenn Johnson, all the time.
