Brooke and Boggs ‘Wildfire’ EP

Tennessee based duo Brooke & Boggs have released their first EP, Wildfire. Consisting of former member of the contemporary Christian band FFH, Michael Boggs, and worship leader Brooke Voland, the singers combine their voices and passion for praise on this collection of songs.

“Wildfire” sets the tone for the rest of the album as it calls upon the Lord to spark a wildfire of His love and power within us so that it may be evident in all we do and point others back to Him.

“Grace Upon Grace” tells of God’s abounding grace He lavishes on those who choose to surrender their hearts to Him. Though we come to Him with brokenness and the guilt of sin, when we give it over to God, He will renew our spirits and cover us with His grace.

One of the highlights of the EP, “The Cross Stands”, is a bold declaration of the power of the cross of Jesus. The lyrics remind us that through all of trials & struggles we face or mistakes we’ve made, nothing can take away the freedom, mercy & strength found in placing our faith in Jesus. He is a constant source of hope in the midst of sorrow & darkness.

“The Light” offers a soulful prayer for God to be present in every aspect of our lives as we strive to be closer to Him. This track also stands out from the rest with a stripped-down musical arrangement and the addition of a gospel choir that left me wanting to hear more songs like it.

Though there may only be six songs featured on Wildfire, the faith-stirring message within each of them draws the hearts of listeners towards our Heavenly Father as we set out to do the work He has called us to and be a reflection of His love to everyone we meet.
