When given the option of reviewing Cade Thompson’s new album ‘Empty Room’, I jumped on it.
1) because my kids already know this musician and artist; and I wanted the chance to hear what is being used to minister to their hearts.
2) because the clip I started off hearing was a blessing to my own heart from the get-go.

I am unfamiliar with Cade Thompson’s story, but I am fully aware and enthusiastic about the message of Jesus’ redemption, healing, forgiveness, and encouragement that is proclaimed in these lyrics and sounds. I hope you will forgive me if I don’t go into the accolades of albums and musical history which make up this artist’s life. I really feel that these songs speak for themselves about the artist’s priorities and heart, and they are so worth a listen. Soak it all in with an open heart waiting to receive a dose of encouragement, hope, peace.

I had some real trouble choosing only a “small few” of the songs to mention in this review. Some of them are vastly different in topic, but vastly precious to the aching, hurting, insecure heart, and they deserve to be laid bare for you, so that perhaps you may find what you need to hear, taste and see the Lord’s goodness. So, without further ado, I present to you a few of the songs that really stood out to me.

EMPTY ROOM felt like surrender, worship and rededication. “All I know is I’m in love with you… like David holding nothing back…” Oh wow, such GREAT lyrics!

GOOD GOD felt like a sunshine song! Hopeful and light, with surrender and fullness of praise. “It’s gonna be a good day ‘cause I’ve got a good God.”

SEE YOU SOON had me in tears of remembrance for those I’ve loved who have gone on to Jesus already. “It’s not goodbye, it’s I’ll see you soon.”

THE ONE is one of my kids’ favorites. It speaks of the Prodigal, the thief on the cross, and the 99 the Shepherd left to find the one! “He won’t give up on the one… Praise God I was the one!”

LOST WITHOUT YOU is just my heart. I say it often, and it really is the anthem of my days. “God, I’d be lost without you.”

TEARS speaks of how there is hope, purpose, and a place for tears. “GOD DOESN’T WASTE YOUR TEARS.”

LOOK AROUND is all about looking and acknowledging the goodness of the Lord. It’s a wonderful reminder to look around and see God’s works and provisions in our everyday lives.

I hope that my simple little review prompts some of you to check out Empty Room by Cade Thompson. It was just what I needed to hear today. Challenges of life are everywhere and constantly coming. This album really just helped me to keep my mind focused on what matters most, Jesus. I was able to share the songs with one of my kids, and she also loved it. Blessings, dear listener. Really, Let us taste and see and hear that the Lord IS SO SO SO SO Good!!! Amen.
