Dennis Quaid, well known actor and musician, released a Gospel-Country album called Fallen: A Gospel Record For Sinners on July 28, 2023. The album consists of 5 original songs and 7 hymns and much-loved classics. Many of the songs speak of the human condition- the wrestling with sinful nature- and our need for help from the Lord. In various ways it is mentioned throughout the record. The tone is a bit more story-like, dramatic, and sometimes twangy.
Here are a few of the songs that made me smile.
WHY ME LORD is such a great prayer song, and so real-to-life.
AMAZING GRACE is a fun rendition. There was a lot of banjo in this one.
WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS is another classic that is precious to my heart.
I’LL FLY AWAY is a unique rendition of an oldie but goodie.
While I had a hard time connecting to some of the music and lyrics in Fallen: A Gospel Record For Sinners, I think you all should have a listen yourself, and tell us what you think!
