Passion Just That Good

That’s right, the annual Passion conference album is out, and it doesn’t disappoint! This group has one of the most talented mix of artists, writers, and musicians in Christian worship music today, and this album holds a couple great songs Worship Leaders everywhere will want to add to their Sunday worship lineup.

The central theme of the album is focused on Jesus, what He does for us, and expressing our love and thanks through musical worship. Not many people appreciate or enjoy live albums, but Passion has the skill of emphasizing the music and using the huge stadium of worshipping young adults to convey the deep emotions and the presence of the Holy Spirit you feel at a live Christian venue. Many of these songs will cause wet eyes, goosebumps, and shivers as you feel and make a deeper connection with the Lord.

The title song, “Just That Good,” is an exciting start to the album. Kristian Stanfill is a super talented song writer and performer, and this upbeat song kicks off praise of Jesus and how He gives us freedom from chains and death. It’s a great vertical worship song to kick off your Sunday services, to get the congregation excited for all Jesus has to offer.

As last year, the album features several great artists like Crowder, Kristian, Melodie Malone, Brooke Ligertwood, and Landon Wolfe. The standouts of the album, however, are “How I Love You “with Rachel Halbach and “Center” with Kari Jobe. “How I Love You” is a beautiful love song to Jesus. Those of us who are saved know nothing but love for the redeemer, but it can be hard to express to others with the words or feelings that convey the depths. The chorus lyrics are so simple, but the melody connects you to the heart of anyone who truly understands what Jesus did on the cross and the overwhelming love we have for that sacrifice.

Finally, the Bethel cover “Center,” sung by Kari Jobe, is a beautiful rendition of this song. The God-gifted musicians and performers at Passion have a unique talent and sound that can take a song written and performed by others and make it more, make it new with their unique pad and electric guitar sounds. Those who already have Center on their playlists will make this one their new favorite. Kari Jobe also has the rare talent of showing emotions with her voice, and you can’t help tearing up at the chorus of “Oh how I love You, Jesus I love you.” If you haven’t added this song to your Sunday lineup, do it now with Passion’s tracks and musical version.

Passion rarely disappoints, and this album is great for personal and church worship. Go through these songs and add your favorites to your worship playlist!
