Sherry Anne ‘Hymns’

Gospel artist Sherry Anne recently released her 9th studio album titled Hymns featuring a collection of classic hymns that so many of us grew up hearing whether at church or through our parents and grandparents singing around the house as they taught them to us. These well-loved songs have provided comfort and kept hearts tuned into our Lord & Savior for generations and it is always good to see artists recording their version of them to keep the legacy alive.

“His Eye Is On The Sparrow” opens the album reminding us that God is always there for us. He sees everything we are going through and provides exactly what we need when we need it.

“Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus/Blessed Assurance/Farther Along” is a medley of favorites that help shift our focus back to the anchor of our salvation and Savior reassuring that He is a faithful friend we can trust through whatever life brings.

“In The Garden” has always had a special space in my heart as being one of my grandma’s favorite hymns that I remember hearing her sing many times. It’s a wonderful reminder to me not only of her faith, but also that God is near and genuinely wants us to spend time with Him.

“This Is My Father’s World” is a favorite knowing that evidence of our Heavenly Father is seen in every part of nature and the world that surrounds us. Observing the details of plants and animals, the power of the wind and waves or countless stars in the night sky leave little doubt of the Divine Maker who created it all!

“My Jesus, I Love Thee/Come, Thou Fount Of Every Blessing/There Is A Fountain” is another medley that flows beautifully. I love how these songs come together to tell a story of faith.

“The Unclouded Day/Leaning On The Everlasting Arms” provides an uplifting mashup that tells of our eternal home and a Father who will love and be our shelter now and forever.

As a whole, Hymns is a terrific album that will have listeners singing along and the songs will bring back special memories for many. Sherry Anne’s voice fits each track very well as her soulful southern gospel style was made for these timeless treasures.
