Jason Gray’s songwriting style has a unique way of intertwining deep, honest faith with the human condition and experiences we encounter on our journey through life. I can’t tell you how many of Jason’s songs have found their way to me when I needed to hear the message within the lyrics the most. With his latest EP, See As You See/Jesus Loves You (And I’m Trying), Jason tackles topics that many of us face daily; whether in person or online.
“See As You See” is a prayer that we would reflect God’s love in every interaction we have with those around us. In a world that’s becoming increasingly hostile, we can choose to turn the other way or overcome our pride and differences to reach out with compassion and start making a change one person at a time.
“Jesus Loves You (And I’m Trying)” takes an honest look at how we react when we become the subject of someone’s rudeness or ridicule. Will we lead with our initial response or pause to take a moment and consider where the other person may be coming from and try to put the words of Matthew 22:39 into action by showing love?
“Be Kind” reminds us to keep in mind that we all are dealing with different problems and emotions that can affect us in numerous ways causing us to lash out or simply not be ourselves as a result of carrying the weight. It doesn’t cost anything or take much effort on our side to offer someone a smile or encouraging word that has the potential to turn their day around.
“When I Say Yes” celebrates the new life, joy and hope that comes with trusting God and saying “yes” to His ways. Following His guidance opens up countless possibilities for us to step into as we walk with Him by our side.
At its core, this 4-song EP is about connection and the importance of tending to our relationship with God as well as showing His grace & love to those we meet. As always, Jason Gray’s signature sound and realness shine through on each track. With timely themes that speak into the hearts of listeners, See As You See/Jesus Loves You (And I’m Trying) will be a welcome addition to your music collection!
