Joseph Habedank – autobiography

Released: April 19, 2024
Rated: 3.7/5
Written by: Celita Diaz-Perillo (Date written: 05/23/2024)
Springtime is a time of renewal, refreshing, beauty, and relief after a long winter. There is more sunshine, and much cleaning up to do after the storms and dreariness of the colder weather; and, of course, there is the evidence of life everywhere. The birds start to sing, the plants blossom and bloom, and all of creation feels and sees the difference in the temperature, the climate, and in colors abounding everywhere.
This new southern gospel album by Joseph Habedank, autobiography, feels like springtime. Like the deep sigh of relief after a crazy storm that is finally abating. Like a rainbow after a week’s worth of spring showers. There is no hiding from the gray clouds and strong winds and wetness that beats and chases, but all things do come to an end. But to what end?
We all have hard times and challenges in our lives. Joseph Habedank lays out some of the chapters of his life-book for us to hear in these lyrics and in this music. In these words, we can all look back to see where he was, and then, we can also acknowledge where he is now. The journey was long. There were hardships, weariness, grief, disappointments, and trauma; but there is also strength, deliverance, perseverance, hope, and triumph in Jesus!
Stryper – To Hell With The Amps

Released: May 10, 2024
Rated: 4.7/5
Written by: Jay Heilman (5/9/2024)
For the majority of bands that got their start in the early 1980’s or before – many are either no longer around, quit putting out albums, or both. For the iconic Christian metal band STRYPER, the end still seems far off in distance with the band still churning out new studio records full of music every couple of years, followed by full tours across the country to support them. Not only that, but lead singer Michael Sweet, despite turning 61 in July, sounds just as amazing vocally now as he’s ever been. Aside from his STRYPER releases, Sweet also managed to put out even more projects, with solo releases along with his collaboration projects – with Sweet & Lynch as well as more recently, Sun Bomb. Not too many artists or bands can make that claim after a 4o-year history, yet Michael Sweet and company continue to prove their critics wrong release after release.
With 2024 nearly half way in, STRYPER has already promised two releases this year. The first, is the band’s very first acoustic unplugged record, To Hell With The Amps, coming May 10th.
Jeremy Camp – Deeper Waters

Released: May 17, 2024
Rated: 5/5
Written by: Darcy Webber (5/13/2024)
Jeremy Camp – multiple award-winner and prolific songwriter – released his new album, Deeper Waters, this month. More important than his earthly rewards, Camp continues to utilize his God-given gifts and creative talents to spread the message of hope and the Gospel through his 14th album. Swiftly changing and morphing music styles means most secular or Christian artists can’t stay relevant and popular over several decades and dozens of albums. Still, Camp manages to get better with every album release. Deeper Waters contains several great songs with lyrics and musical scores that cross over to multiple genres like Pop, Rock, and contemporary Country.
Deeper Waters offers a profound and cohesive listening experience from start to finish, and listeners will enjoy the album as a whole and resonate on a deep emotional level. The album’s overarching theme is a poignant confession of personal failures and sins in a world increasingly marred by troubles, and the profound reliance on the Lord and the salvation He offers to heal, cleanse, and purify. The album’s opening is a powerful surge of edgy rock and pop tones, with lyrics that guide you through the world’s turmoil with the light of Jesus and the purifying fire of the Holy Spirit. The incredible energy and inspiration of the first quarter change to inwards and mellow through the album’s end, but no less motivating to do the deeper work needed to overcome personal sin. Everyone can identify with Camp’s inner struggles, as they are the struggles of all humans on this earth.
Sarah Kroger – A New Reality

Released: May 17, 2024
Rated: 4.5/5
Written by: Laura Chambers (5/6/2024)
Nobody who lived through the COVID-19 pandemic escaped without being affected. Even if you may have not become ill yourself or lost a loved one to the disease, it still leaves us with questions, as most major events do – war, romance, career changes, accidents; all can cause us to question our faith, especially when it seems like God is silent. The sudden paralysis of disruption can be jarring.
Sarah Kroger’s experience echoes that of many; yet, despite her struggles with the big questions of life, she began to see the disguised blessings inherent in any trial. A New Reality encourages us not to forsake God in our troubles or abandon Him because of our questions; instead, be brave enough to ask and quiet enough to listen.
Jordan St. Cyr – My Foundation

Released: June 14, 2024
Rated: 5/5
Written by: Kelly Meade
Singer/songwriter Jordan St. Cyr’s sophomore album, My Foundation, is one that I have been looking forward to for a while & it does not disappoint! With hints of gospel, rock & folk influences throughout, this collection of encouraging anthems as well as stories of trusting God in the darkest of times is an album that many will be able to relate to as we all experience trials that put our faith & hope to the ultimate test.
“To Save My Life” opens the album recognizing the life-giving sacrifice of Jesus & the fact that His triumph over death has also given us victory over every battle that comes our way when we choose to accept Him as our Savior.
Jeremy Rosado – Still God EP

Released: Spring 2024
Rated: 5/5
Written by: Kelly Meade June 2024
Jeremy Rosado first started gaining recognition through his time on season 11 of American Idol back in 2012 where his voice and story left a lasting impact while many more discovered him as a contestant on The Voice in 2021. Through it all, Jeremy has never been afraid to share his faith and the many ways God has worked in his life and the lives of his family. After several independent projects, he signed with Capitol Christian Music Group in 2022 and has continued writing new music and releasing singles to streaming platforms. For those who have the chance to make it out to a live concert this summer and beyond, you can purchase a physical CD of the Still God EP featuring the four most recent songs released.
“Still God” is an anthem (and a personal favorite) of God’s faithfulness declaring the truths about Who He is and always will be. With Him, we have the assurance that we are never alone in our darkest times and He will carry us through to a better tomorrow.
Leanna Crawford – Still Waters

Released: July 19, 2024
Rated: 4.8/5
Written by: Celita Diaz-Perillo (Date written: 07/16/2024)
I am so pleased to announce that contemporary Christian music artist Leanna Crawford has a new album, Still Waters, releasing today – July 19th. To borrow a phrase from the past, I am “tickled pink” about it. I have been catching some of the songs around on social media, and they have quickly captured my heart. I sincerely hope you will agree. Here are some of the songs that particularly snagged my attention.
STILL WATERS feels like breathing life into a deflated heart and soul. It’s a time to refocus, to go back to basics and rest there, to renew our understanding of where we find our hope, joy, and peace. JESUS! And we can use scripture to encourage ourselves daily! This one really focuses on Psalm 23, and I am here for it.
Unspoken – IV

Released: September 13, 2024
Rated: 4.6/5
Written by: Celita Diaz-Perillo
It’s been a while since I’ve heard new music from the band, Unspoken, but on September 13th, 2024, they released the full-length album, IV (Roman numerals for the number four).
Coincidentally (or not) , I listened the album for the first time when all the flooding was occurring due to the Hurricanes Helene and Milton. My mind was so distracted with worry for people we know and don’t know. The plight of so many was so precarious and tragic, and the losses weighed heavy on my heart, as it did for so many.
I sit here these weeks later, and marvel at how God used this album to comfort and encourage my heart. So many of the songs are about facing hard times and getting through them; depending on God’s strength, hope, peace, help. So many of them affirm how loved and wanted and needy we are, and who we are in Christ, and where our help comes from. The power, grace, and love of Jesus are proclaimed, and how it is done is both an inspiration to my weary, heavy heart, and a salve.
Skillet – Revolution

Released: November 1, 2024

Skillet’s latest album, Revolution, set to release on November 1, 2024, marks a pivotal shift as they transition to their independent label, Hear It Loud, after two decades with Atlantic Records. This release maintains their signature rock edge while exploring themes of faith, resilience, and personal growth, offering something meaningful for long-time fans and newcomers alike.
1. Showtime
The album opens with “Showtime,” an anthem of boldness and authenticity. With lyrics like “My life, high life, King over my empire,” it encourages listeners to stand firm in their beliefs and persevere as revolutionaries for Christ, no matter the challenges.
Brianne – Wonder EP

Rated: 5/5
Written by: Kelly Meade
Singer/songwriter and worship leader Brianne’s latest EP, Wonder, offers a pop-Christian mix with songs that explore the questions and emotions we encounter in life while standing in awe of our Creator, His plans for our lives and His perfect timing.
Opening with the title track, “Wonder” is a beautiful cover of the Bethel Music/Amanda Cook song inviting listeners to never lose the sense of wonder when we ponder the majesty, goodness and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father.
