Vertical Worship ‘Bright Faith Bold Future’

Surrounded by the stories of glories past, we can find them an overwhelmingly heavy weight to bear when our world looks nothing like the one we were expecting. Vertical Worship ventures forward into the next chapter of the grand narrative that God is writing. Bright Faith Bold Future chooses a brilliant color scheme to illuminate the precious promises He has given us.

With expectation of greater things to come, “Open The Gates” welcomes the next phase of our story with fanfare befitting the transition from glory to glory. As God pours out his blessings on us, let our response be worship. Nothing to disapprove of here, though the bridge does travel into cliche territory.

“Yes I Will” demonstrates how we can apply the truths we believe about God to the most difficult of situations in our lives; they are not mere words. This is how we can survive tragedy and find joy in the middle of our trials. The song’s declaration is delivered with conviction and strength.

Using several examples of seemingly immovable and insurmountable obstacles, “Over All I Know” proclaims God to have dominion over all of these. He has the authority to defeat them with a mere word. Anything we can conceive of has no choice but to submit to Him. Anyone who’s ever seen evidence of His power can agree that He is preeminent.

“Hallelujah Amen” declares the greatness of God and where we come into the picture, as worshippers praising Him and sinners who are recipients of His grace.

“My Defense” sings of the protection God provides when He fights our battles. Anything that wants to get to us must go through Him first. When we know that He is in our corner, fear has no power over us, despite the enemy mounting a strong offense. The song’s message of defiance will bolster the courage of even the most fearful of soldiers.

“Real Thing” draws a contrast between God’s perfect, completely satisfying love and the many flawed loves we are offered by others. His grace is given out of kindness, not to profit from it or because we deserve another chance. We can’t ever become ineligible to receive the one thing we cannot live without.

“All Hail The King” rolls out the red carpet to honor our only Lord and King, Jesus Christ, with surrender and song. A classic hymn supplies the song’s bridge, offering us a moment to slow down and consider his eternal kingship.

“After Your Heart” follows in the footsteps of David, seeking to know the heart of God. Surrendering the course of our lives, we must be willing to let God act however He sees fit, if it will draw us closer to Him. The song pulses like a heartbeat, matching the urgency of its mission.

With desperation and confidence, “Strength of My Life” surrenders to the love of God, whose strength supports us. The path ahead will be illuminated if we rely completely on Him.

“Shelter” ignores the sound of the storm and the gore of the battle, preferring to see the promises of God instead. His wings surround us like an impenetrable fortress; in His keeping, we are secured against every assault.

“Goodness” attributes all the assurances God has given us to His ever-present, ever-visible goodness. No matter where we are, we can experience His overwhelming mercy.

Victory is not a fantasy; Vertical Worship declares that it is already ours in Christ Jesus. With uplifting lyrics and music, Bright Faith Bold Future beckons us to stand upon His word and claim His promises for now and always.
